VisaAtlas Data Licence & Usage Terms

These terms apply to a purchased or separately granted VisaAtlas Data commercial dataset. They distinguish public-source information from the material and organisation added by VisaAtlas.
Supplier: VisaAtlas Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 17117463, registered office 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX.
These terms are contractual product information, not legal advice. Customers should obtain independent advice about their own intended use where appropriate.
1. Public-source data and independent rights
Certain fields in VisaAtlas Data are derived from publicly available UK Government information. Where that information is made available under the Open Government Licence, your independent rights to use that source information remain governed by that licence. Nothing in these VisaAtlas Data Licence & Usage Terms is intended to restrict rights granted directly under the applicable public-sector licence.
VisaAtlas does not claim exclusive ownership of underlying UK Government information. These terms do not prevent a customer from independently obtaining and reusing original public-source information under its applicable licence.
2. VisaAtlas-added material
The commercial product includes a VisaAtlas-added layer which may include:
- Cleaning, normalisation and deduplication
- Entity matching and match-confidence fields
- Manually or algorithmically assigned classifications
- Derived sponsor activity tiers, flags and categories
- Historical change datasets compiled by VisaAtlas
- Documentation and the data dictionary
- Original dataset organisation and presentation where legally protectable
3. Permitted use
The purchasing organisation may:
- Use the purchased dataset internally within the purchasing organisation
- Import it into internal databases and CRM systems
- Conduct commercial research and analysis
- Create internal reports and dashboards
- Use insights derived from the data in normal business operations
- Combine it with the customer’s own internal datasets
4. Restrictions on VisaAtlas-added material
Unless separately agreed in writing, the customer must not:
- Resell the VisaAtlas-enriched dataset as a standalone data product
- Sublicense the full VisaAtlas-enriched commercial dataset
- Publicly redistribute the complete VisaAtlas-enriched dataset
- Provide third parties with paid access to a substantially equivalent reproduction of VisaAtlas’s added enrichment
- Present VisaAtlas enrichment as official UK Government information
- Imply endorsement by VisaAtlas, the UK Government or the Home Office
These restrictions apply to the VisaAtlas-added commercial layer. They do not restrict a customer’s independent rights to obtain and reuse underlying public-source information under the Open Government Licence or another applicable source licence.
5. Limited extracts and derived outputs
Customers may reasonably use limited extracts, statistics, aggregated analysis, research findings and derived insights. Those outputs must not effectively reproduce, reconstruct or redistribute the complete VisaAtlas-enriched commercial dataset or a substantially equivalent reproduction of its added enrichment.
6. Dataset versions and access
A Dataset Snapshot purchase grants access only to the dataset version identified at checkout and in its version metadata. Future versions, refreshes and updates are not included unless separately purchased or supplied under an ongoing data agreement.
Access credentials and signed download links must not be shared outside the licensed customer organisation. Each supplied commercial version is identified by its metadata, including its version, generation date, source date and checksum.
7. Attribution
Customers must retain and reproduce attribution required by an applicable underlying public-sector licence where relevant.
Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
VisaAtlas is independent and is not endorsed by the UK Government or Home Office.
8. Accuracy and disclaimers
- Sponsor status can change after a dataset version is produced.
- Data may contain errors or omissions despite reasonable cleaning and verification.
- 2025 Certificate of Sponsorship information is historical context.
- Historical CoS issuance does not represent current CoS allocation or availability and does not guarantee future sponsorship.
- VisaAtlas does not guarantee employment, sponsorship or immigration outcomes.
- Customers should independently verify information used for material, legal, compliance or other critical decisions.
9. Acceptance and additional rights
This is a business-to-business product. The person accepting these terms confirms that they are authorised to bind the purchasing organisation named at checkout. Acceptance applies to the purchased VisaAtlas Data product; it is not required merely to access public information elsewhere. Any broader redistribution, sublicensing, automated delivery or third-party access rights must be agreed separately in writing.
10. Licence grant and term
Subject to payment and continued compliance with these terms, VisaAtlas grants the purchasing organisation a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the purchased version for the permitted internal purposes above. A snapshot licence does not include later versions or update services.
The licence continues for the purchased version unless terminated for material breach. On termination, the customer must stop using and delete the VisaAtlas-added commercial layer, while any independent rights in underlying public-source information remain unaffected.
11. Fees, tax, invoicing and delivery
Prices shown at checkout are in pounds sterling. VisaAtlas Ltd is not currently VAT registered, so VAT is not charged and the invoice or receipt is not a VAT invoice. Stripe collects the billing information needed to process the payment and issue an ordinary invoice or receipt.
Delivery occurs by granting the purchasing account access to a private download. The customer is responsible for providing accurate billing and organisation information and securing its account and downloaded files.
12. Refunds and defective delivery
Because a snapshot is an immediately delivered digital business dataset that cannot be returned, purchases are normally non-refundable after access has been granted. This does not affect any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If the supplied file is inaccessible, corrupt, materially different from the documented schema, or duplicated in error, contact support@visaatlas.uk promptly. VisaAtlas may replace the file, correct access, or issue an appropriate refund. Refunded or disputed purchases may have download access revoked.
13. Suspension and termination
VisaAtlas may suspend download access while investigating fraud, payment reversal, security misuse or a material breach. Either party may terminate for an unremedied material breach after reasonable written notice where the breach can be remedied. Provisions concerning restrictions, attribution, disclaimers, liability and governing law survive termination.
14. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VisaAtlas is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings arising from use of the dataset.
VisaAtlas's aggregate liability relating to a purchased snapshot is limited to the amount paid for that snapshot. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. General
These terms, the order shown at checkout and any written commercial order form are the entire agreement for the supplied dataset. The customer may not assign or transfer the licence without VisaAtlas's written consent. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. Neither party is responsible for delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control. Notices about this agreement may be sent to the email addresses used for the order and to support@visaatlas.uk.
16. Governing law
These terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the parties agree another forum in a written commercial order.
